Dance Venue We’ll be dancing at St Martin’s Community Resource Centre (232 Dalry Road, Edinburgh, EH11 2JG). Public transport or active travel offers the best way to get to the hall:
Lothian Bus routes 2, 4 and 44 (Murieston Crescent stop)
A 12 minute walk from Haymarket station - going straight down Dalry Road, it is on the right hand side on the corner of Murieston Crescent.
There is a cycle stand outside the front of the church
There is on street parking on Murieston Crescent, Murieston Place, Murieston Terrace and Murieston Road, all nearby to the hall however as the parking charges are off by that point, spaces are hard to come by and you may need to venture further afield to secure a spot.
Dress Code and Photography. It’s not a formal event, so no need for ball gowns or full highland dress. We want you to be comfortable so wear whatever you like, but kilts, trews or party frocks will be ideal. We'd like to take photos at the event as a record for the archives and to use to advertise future events and what we do. We hope you are ok with this but if not, please let us know and we'll be sure only to use those without you in.
Programme A programme of favourites has been compiled and is available here: https://my.strathspey.org/dd/list/69475/ As the majority of the dances are well known we’ll be giving a brief recap rather than walking any of the dances through.
Workshop (Sunday 10 May) We’ll be holding one of our usual Sunday workshops, 2-4.30pm at Murrayfield Parish Church Hall (EH12 6EQ) the day after the dance. Continuing our long tradition of encouraging younger and new teachers, we’re pleased to support Beth Fairbairn at the start of her teaching journey with music by Gillian Stevenson and David Oswald. Attendees of the dance get a small discount on the workshop ticket if bought at the same time as your dance ticket via the online store.
We’re looking forward to seeing you in May to help us celebrate 10 years of Edinburgh Scottish Dancers.
